I’ve been on t…

Published November 22, 2011 by Hina

I’ve been on the 90 day challenge for the past 5 days.   I have to tell you I was skeptical at first.  The first time I heard and saw these videos was back in April, then again in July as the people that were promoting it to me were celebrities.  I thought to myself, ok but does it really work?  These celebrities could be paid for all I know.  How legit is this?

Then came, some of my friends that started up taking the challenge and talking about it.  It got me thinking, and doing research and clicking here and there.  Finally, I thought about it, and talked about it with several people on it.

Me!  I don’t need to lose a lot of weight..   I’d like to have more energy though.  I’d like to get up in the morning and not have this massive migraine headache that I’ve been fighting for a few years now on and off.   It has to be more than stress related, because we all face that and it just has to be more to it.  Maybe it’s my diet, of what I’m eating or not eating, I’m eating too much, or not enough.  Maybe, it’s too much salt, too much grease, and too much sweets.  Maybe, it’s not enough fruits and vegetables though I do try to eat as much as possible, and even in the meat zone sticking to chicken and beef, but not a lot, just a bit here and there.

Maybe it could be several factors, not enough sleep, or exercise, or vitamins.   Though, I think it could be too much poison, too much in my body that needs to be detoxed and start living a healthier life.

How can I do that?  How can I go from where I am now, to that of what I wish to accomplish?  I have 3 months, which is 90 days.    I’ve completed  5 days so far, and so far it’s good.

I have to tell you the shakes, are simply amazing.  As they advertise they taste like cake batter.  I thought it was a joke, they were kidding.  But,no sure enough I open the package and it even smelled like cake batter.  It tasted like that.   I tried it several different ways, with just water and the shake mix.  Still good.  Water, shake mix, with ice.   good.

Milk with shake mix, some frozen berries, some ice.   good.   Adding some vanilla chai latte powder, some pudding powder, and mixing the flavor package with it.  Good.

Just having it with plain milk and shake mix good.   Adding a banana to the mix, good, adding some organic baby spinach to the mix, mmm very good.   Adding some carrots to the mix, and adding whatever I can think of into the mix.

This morning, I tried it with the berries, milk, a little bit of OJ, and some ice.     Later on that afternoon, I tried it with Cream soda, and the shake mix.

So far I’ve noticed, that I didn’t wake up this morning before noon with a massive headache, which is good because usually I have a bad one and I have to do things really quickly before resorting back to going back into the room for some quiet time.   But, I didn’t do that this morning.   It threw off everyone in the house as they were asking me why I was up so early, and if everything was ok.

Yeah it was more than ok.  I felt fine.   And as they were shocked as to why I wasn’t sleeping, or why or what happened to the headache.  I couldn’t explain it, just that it was not there that morning, or this morning.

Then, as I went on about my daily tasks, I did find that I was more energetic, and more feeling as to what my next shake would be like, and looking at all the recipes, as my mouth watered to what I’d try next.

I have 85 days after all and I have many, many, and many more days to go, and so many recipes to try out, experiment and experience with that it’s just great.

So, I end with this, and hope everyone has an awesome day.   And if you need more information, please contact me and I’ll get you in touch with taking the 90 day challenge with me.

Body by Vi Challenge part 1

Published November 16, 2011 by Hina

For the past six months or so, I saw a few of my friends taking on the challenge. I asked them what was this challenge that they’re talking about.   Turns out it was the 90-day challenge that everyone was raging about. They directed me to this website, where I saw tons of people talking about weight loss, and it was a program that was designed to make you fit, as well as lose weight and or gain muscles, and live a healthier and happier lifestyle.

As I went from one website to another checking out as much information as I could about this company, and even going to google and checking out the reviews, and pros and cons about it. I was thinking.

Could this be something that I could try out, perhaps just to gain energy, and also live a healthier lifestyle. Could this work for me? Is there many people that I know that could benefit from this as well as myself?

I could clearly count at least ten people that could benefit from this, as I remember them struggling to lose weight for so long and with one diet program after another they kept telling me that none were working for them.

Let’s get one thing clear, I do not really want to lose any weight but I do want to lose the belly fat, stomach bulge that I have that makes me look like I’m still pregnant even though I had my baby, my daughter over six years ago.

I know my mom has been struggling with her weight for a long time, and she could benefit from this. I also know my uncle also wanted to shed a few. Then, there are my friends who had babies not too long ago, that they too want to get their body back in shape.

I do not want to feel tired in the mornings, nor do I want to feel overly exhausted. I want to be able to get up in the morning and have energy to get through the day without feeling the migraines that have been troubling me for the past few years.

As I went on from site to site, checking the videos and information about this company, the more intrigued I became. Then came upon the recipes, the shakes, as my mouth watered. Mind you, I’m a huge SMOOTHIE fan, and this was where it was posting these shakes, and how these shakes tasted like cake batter.

I’ve tried the protein shakes over time from different companies, and some just didn’t cut it. I won’t name which one just tasted real bad, and I couldn’t even finish the whole package.

This one indeed does taste like cake batter, I could not believe my eyes or my taste buds, so talking to one person to another about this I wanted to get signed up and take the challenge.

A friend of mine has been on it for two months and she lost over 25 pounds, another has been on it for a month and has lost 18 pounds so far. Another has been on it for a few weeks and lost only 10 pounds.

There are 4 packages to this, and I think rather than me ramble on and on about it, you should just check the sites out for yourself.

But, they ask everyone what are your goals? Why do you want to do this?

For me, I just want to get my life back on track. I remember having this burst of energy before I was married, and before I had children. I didn’t need a cup of tea in the morning or my coffee to get me through. I just woke up, and was wide awake, high energetic throughout the whole day until late in the evening.

I’d like that again.

here are the sites and check it out for yourself and see;

Then I heard about the exciting promotions, and contests that were going on, and if you became a customer as well as a distributor, marketing executive for the company and the products, then you could also be a part of the team, and win some great prizes for yourself.

So, I’m awaiting for my package to arrive, and I can’t wait to start my 90 day challenge.

flu shot

Published November 12, 2011 by Hina

I just had the flu shot this morning and feel extremely fatigue and exhausted, more than usual.   Felt dizzy earlier and lost my balance at the grocery store as I was loading the cart with the grocery bags.   I lost sensation in my hand, and dropped the clementine box and all the oranges fell on the floor.  As I bend down to pick them up, I lost my sense of concentration, and felt dizzy, and nausea hitting me.  Even I noticed a pain in my neck, my face, and my back as I tried to speak, it just came out in a slur gibberish.   I stayed quiet not saying anything because I was wondering what happened.

But, as I returned home I was ok, but still as I’m trying to figure out, maybe too much stress and exhaustion combined together, maybe I just need to eat more before running around, especially at the grocery store on a Saturday morning where it’s busy, crowded, a lot of noise.

maybe it’s the flu shot ‘s side effects too, and the crying kids surrounding me, thank God not mine..but still.    something to ponder over.

Simple recipe for zatar bread

Take out some regular pita bread, or naan.

Brush it lightly with some olive oil.

Put the zatar mix over on top, and toast it for 2-4 minutes in the toaster oven.
Serve it on serving dish, and cut it up into slices.  Enjoy!

eid al – adha at the house

Published November 6, 2011 by Hina

On Sunday November 6, 2011 we celebrated Eid al Adha at our house with the family and relatives.

We didn’t go out much, except just in the home with everyone dropping by and having dinner.

The children were given their presents and gifts from everyone else and it was a fun day.

Unfortunately, the children changed back into their regular clothes from their Eid clothes, because they weren’t too comfortable in it.   Another time, I’ll try to snap them in pictures before they pull the switcheroo.   :)

chicken & veggie soup

Published November 4, 2011 by Hina

Here is the picture, the recipe will follow below;

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp of olive oil
1 onion diced
1 red, green, yellow, orange bell pepper diced
handful of baby carrots, sliced down thinly
handful of spring onions
1/4 bunch of fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 package of frozen vegetables of your choice, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, green beans
1 zucchinni, diced
1/4 package of broad egg noodles
leftover chicken…diced or shredded, or break them into pieces
1 vegetable broth cube
1 chicken broth cube
1 beef broth cube
6-8 cups of water
1 Tbsp garlic ginger paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp black pepper

Preparation:

1.  In a large pot, add oil and add the diced onions, and bell peppers.  On medium-heat and fry for a few minutes.  Add garlic and ginger paste, and add the broth cubes.   Make sure to mash the cubes into the veggies, and make sure you don’t burn it and let it stick to the oil.

2. Add the rest of the other veggies, and add the water.    Add the other spices, and do not put in the coriander leaves at this point.

3.  Add the chicken, and add the egg noodles, and keep it on medium heat, stirring often and making sure it doesn’t stick.

4.  You may add vinegar or lemon juice at this point if you want to make it hot and sour or even leave out the chicken if you don’t want meat in it.    Add the cilantro and let it cook for a few more minutes.

5.  Taste, and add more spices if you want to, or turn off the stove and pour it into serving bowls and enjoy!

This goes well with toast, or dinner rolls or buns.
